Hydraulic Hot Upsetting Machine

Model No.: PHUP-525

Hydraulic Hot Upsetting Machine PHUP–525, 5 mm – 25 mm Rod Capacity, 60 KVA, Industrial Horizontal Model

Description

Hot Upset testing in a Wire Rod Mill is a quality control procedure used to rapidly compress a heated wire rod sample. Primary purpose is to reveal surface defect (such as Seams & Laps) and evaluate the maintain for forgeability without fracturing or cracking.

Why Hot Upset Testing is Crucial

  • Defect Detection : Compresses the red-hot rod sample to expose hidden longitudinal and subsurface defects by expanding its diameter.
  • Forgeability Verification : Verifies the material’s ability to withstand cold heading and forging processes without failure.
  • Process Control : Helps identify defects early, enabling mills to trace their source and optimize rolling parameters before producing large quantities of defective wire.

Features:

  • High Current Capacity : Operates with low voltage and high amperage for effective heating.
  • Efficient Heating Process : Utilizes resistive power loss in the job to generate heat.
  • Controlled Deformation : Heats the metal to the plastic deformation stage for precise shaping.
  • Reliable Performance : Ensures consistent results in upsetting operations.
  • User-Friendly Operation : Designed for ease of use and dependable functionality.
