Hydraulic Upset Press Machine
Model No.: PHUP-25
Hydraulic Cold Upset Press Machine | 400 Ton Heavy Duty Forging Press | Industrial Upsetting Machine for Ø25 mm Capacity | High Pressure Double Acting Hydraulic Press System
Description
Cold upset testing is a vital quality control step in wire rod mills used to evaluate a steels ability to undergo severe cold forming (like cold heading) without failing. It ensures the material can withstands extreme deformation without developing dangerous structural cracks, splits or seams.
Key Purpose of Cold Upset Testing
- Surface Defect Detection: Compresses the sample (typically to 50–80% of its original height) to reveal hidden surface defects such as seams, laps, and rolling folds.
- Ductility Evaluation: Assesses the steel’s ductility and plastic strain to ensure it is suitable for manufacturing bolts, nuts, and screws.
- Process Verification: Confirms that heat treatment and rolling processes were properly executed, ensuring the material meets quality standards before shipment.
